Primary Tasks and responsibilities:
Deployment and support of the storage & backup environment in the data centers. This includes the high end data storage, the Storage Area Network and the backup environment. - 3rd line support for the Backup service. - Disk space provisioning to VMWare, Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris systems in different business related projects - Backup services for different servers in the data center. Global project member to align the storage & backup worldwide with regards to tooling and/or infrastructure. Identify optimization opportunities through consolidation or simplification and executes those plans if there are substantial strategic / cost justifications. Map the needs of the Business Customers to the existing technology and give our business the competitive advantage by delivering them tailored storage & backup services within our Global Standards. Technical profile requirements:
Excellent knowledge of Storage and backup technology, in specific CISCO SAN, NetApp Filers, HDS USP, IBM DS8000 and Tivoli Storage Manager. Good knowledge of common storage provisioning tasks and concepts. Good knowledge of Windows, Linux and Unix based systems.
Basic scripting (VBS, DOS, Unix shell, SQL,…) knowledge is a plus. Basic knowledge of Enterprise monitoring tools is a plus.
Able to integrate his/her technical knowledge and skills in an environment that is highly regulated and subject to different ITIL based processes
(Change Management, Incident Management, Asset Management, ... ). Technical writing skills to write the proper documentation according to internal regulations
Methodology/Certification requirements Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science OR equivalent through experience.
Advanced course work in technical systems plus continued education in technical disciplines is preferred.
